Making old ships work with 6.0

I have a few ship mods that I am currently working on that work before the 6.0 update and do not know how to make it work with 6.0. The engines and shields I am having issues. I have gone through the files and I did not see anything to change or am I overlooking this? Any help will be appreciate it.

This is exactly what I'm struggling with right now. I've been going through my changes one by one, but haven't found the issue yet. Did you ever figure it out?

I couldn't remember earlier where I saw it, but I think the answer to your issues is here ..

EDIT: also, shields and engines now have "standard" tag, which means modded-in engines and shields without that tag will not be compatible with vanilla ships
