Player damage reduction modding

Hi, new to the game and trying to get my head around some basic modding.
Is there a variable to reduce the amount of damage the player receives? Not invulnerability, but just reduced damage. like say 30%?

Welcome :-)

The damage your ship received (shields/hull) is determined by the weapons (bullets). So unless you modify all of them (that would include your own) there is no way to reduce it.

You can customize OOS damage, try find get_attackstrength apply_attackstrength in xml scripts
