Authorisation Error - *Should* be resolved now.

Post by Racinante » Sat, 19. Nov 22, 17:45

Good afternoon, when I try to log in to online opportunities, it says the wrong password. But the password is correct and the account is linked to steam, how can I fix it?

Make sure you're using the password for this forum, not your Steam password, and that you do not, for example, have the Caps Lock key enabled when trying to type any lowercase letters. Also make sure that you can log into the forum using that password, in case there is any typo. We did, at one point, also have some issues with very strange characters in passwords causing problems, but I believe that was resolved some time ago.

I easily re-logged to the forum, yesterday I tried to unbind and bind steam, I didn’t install any modifications

Are you using the Windows or Linux version of the game? And are you sure the error is telling you that you have entered the wrong password, not something else that could indicate, say, a firewall problem?

If your password also contains Cyrillic characters, could you try changing to use Latin characters only?

I use only the Latin alphabet, there were numbers in the password, I tried to remove them all the same

Numbers should definitely be fine. Just to check, you did enter the email address associated with your forum account rather than the username in the top box, right?

OK, thanks for your patience and your answers. Unfortunately at this point there's nothing more I can do until Monday now, when someone can take a look at the problem from the server side and find out what's happening. Hopefully they will be able to work out what the problem is. :)

Hello, I have exactly the same connection problem, even after changing my password.

@ Dmnt33: The devs would need a some more information than that if you want them to assist you as well. Are you using non-Latin characters in your password? (Don't post it, obviously!)

My problem is that I manage to connect very well to the egosoft forum but not to the online function on x4 foundation (I did link the games with steam).
my password only uses non-latin characters.

Just to be absolutely clear, which online function log-in are you talking about? The only one enabled is a retrospective allowance to get your paintjobs that you previously obtained through ventures (plus a bonus one) - see Gregory's post here. All the other online functions are still disabled pending something newer/better, as Gregory says there.

For the record, you guys should now be able to log in. There was just a bit of a delay between you setting up your accounts and/or changing your passwords, and those changes being available to the in-game online service. Sorry for the delay in letting you know. :)
