[#40][5.10] player build method takes precedence over station build method override - Improvement coming + workaround.
(original title: [5.10] bug? Universal build method Scrap Processor requests Terran wares despite station override. - updated to more accurately explain issue)
I'm building a 100% Commonwealth station, and when i place Scrap Processor with universal (or closed loop) build method, it asks for terran wares.

To test, open Windfall IV Aurora's Dream Factory I build menu and place Scrap Processor. Note that it's asking for terran wares even though universal method or closed loop are picked.

Update: Scrap Processors looks at player global build method, but ignores station build method override. Changing it on global level fixes the issue, so bug is with processor not reading per-station override.

Update: same issue with turrets: had closed loop as build method on station but universal as player, and added turrets needed commonwealth materials. It seems that station build method override isn't applying to any construction.

it's not ideal, but workaround is to change global player build method settings for whatever station is currently worked on, and assume that override per station is ignored. I'm not sure if drones, missiles, etc are also affected by this (i'm not using them), in which case it'd be more of a hassle.

Hi - the setting on the station so far only controls the preferred build method that is used to assemble drones and ammo as well as build ships if your station has a build module.
It does not affect the build method used by the Build Storage to construct modules of the station.
We're looking into providing an additional setting to control the module construction build method separately with a future update (no ETA for that I'm afraid).
Until then your workaround should do the trick.

I would like to, but unfortunately I use some QOL-mods....
I just tested it the same way the thread opener desrcibed.
But you say it is supposed to work and you can switch the method just for one station?
Can you do it, after some modules were already built, or just when the station is still untouched?

I did some more testing and I just did not know, that "closed loop" it only works for ARG turrets and shields. Seems to work as intended.

I'm having this problem with drones on Terran stations. [6.00 HF5]
I posted here as a question, but it seems to be related to the bug on this thread. The workaround here works for this problem.
