Finally landed my dream job

Post by Tempest » Sun, 20. Nov 22, 11:45

Camping, lots and lots of camping a CAB admin center. (with an average lifespan of 15-20 mins)

Finally snagged myself a CAB stationconstruction job in Heart of Acrimony.

A defense station with 6 turrets, 1 container storage, 1 admin module you say? Gotcha!, 2.5B Credit shipyard framed by a rididculous row of plasma-turrets coming right up good sir!

ZYA is happily providing construction mats en masse..

Made my day, fly safe people!

Sounds good. What about giving it storage and a shipyard/Wharf and supply them with zya mats?

I thought station build missions now have a maximum payout?

They do. I see two scenarios:
  • Make a big plan that has the requested items first. Mission completes quickly and CAB buys resources for the rest of plan. This has two downsides:
    • If it becomes CAB station with only 6 turrets, then it is weak against ZYA
    • Factions that already do have many stations do not seem to complete the (awesome) plot
  • Donate 2.5B credits to CAB cause. It is "rewarding charity"

Considering how long he was camping it, I don't think money is anywhere on his mind.
Just wants to supercharge them without worrying about their shipyard randomly exploding I expect.

correct, i just want them to have a bit of a fighting chance, stir up trouble in the sector (and stimulate some extra ZYA spending at my Shipyard)

Personally I find it easier to build my own Shipyard and Wharf in their sector and use blacklists to decide who to sell to.
Don't have to wait for a mission for one and for two you can build them where it's actually good. And of course no one wants to actually kill it so you can pop them out fast.
Oh, if you want to stir up trouble, try Yaki, very profitable too.

Considering ZYA is the weakest faction I really do not understand this... CAB has a very strong fighting chance against ZYA just by existing and eating half their supply economy. Unless ZYA is being heavily supported by the player their economy will be pretty much non-existent by that stage.

Yaki is fun to build for since their fighter swarms are some of the only things that can stop TER Intervention. If you set up a huge wharf at Second Contact Flashpoint you can use them shield the Xenon against the TER Asgards, while making a silly amount of profit.

ah, sadly my Yaki are extinct. :|

ZYA Patriarchy in my game is the most aggresive expansionist. my save is weird though (day1 original 1.0 save)

I don't think factions can truly go extinct, it just depends on whether anyone is willing to supply them or not.

In my 3.0-game the Yaki were next to extinct too (reduced to one station and not one ship) - until I allowed them to build at my wharfs. Now they are swarming my universe, stirring up trouble everywhere even killing TER Asgards now and then (some I wanted to take for myself ... so fairly sure who to blame).

Aye, Allies supply construction workers/Builder ships. some are more problematic though; YAKI / CAB(tries to build in ZYA-policed sectors) /HOP , IF the player picked a fight with them previously.

unrecoverable in my case:
YAK (no station blueprints/build plots anywhere, and they have zero friends)
HOP (station blueprints/build plots in lasting vengeance, they are friends with TRI supposedly, but the stations never get any Builder ships on site. 100 days+ timewise.

I mean, you're a friend.
Like I'm fairly certain if you start selling ships to the Yaki they'll still buy despite not existing anywhere else.

Ah, Cheers for the input Raptor, was surprised i was at 0/Neutral faction-standing with Yaki, afraid they won't order any ships from me though, not sure if this is blueprint related, what ships would they be purchasing?

Factions will bring their own component blueprints but I think you need to have the ship blueprint. So if Yaki are dead and you can't get rep up to buy the BP from them it's probably a lost cause.

Right. I was assuming you already had the blueprints.
If you don't, then you're out of luck.

I thought that they [Yaki] are hostile when I saw them first time (on addition of CoH). Should that change?

@ jlehtone: You can bring the Yaki round in the CoH TER/POI plot. However, they may stop being your friend as soon as they claim a bailed ship that you really wanted and did all the hard work to get ... (Yes, they can do that.) :D

I've seen them try, when CoH was very new. Had I worked hard to get that Yaki bail? Probably not. Did they reclaim it? Definitely not. Did some of the rest bail too? Perhaps. It was all friendly banter. :split:

I'm not into plots, particularly if anyone at -30 relationship could be involved, even though I have now a ceasefire with TER. I don't shoot and they can't.

heh, it's nothing too spectular, but the turret amount might be worth a chuckle, i've seen the "Xenon containment place-around-gate contraptions" that people made around here that look more appealing.

still under construction atm (i used to leave the machine running overnight with huge stations, but with current energy prices.. lol)
