[4.20] Terran Beam M/L Turret Behaviour

Was this changed in the patch?
I can hear them firing constantly while they go active but visually they act more like meson streams they fire once mostly missing then after about 5 seconds they fire again, instead of that constant tracking beam we had earlier. I've tried both the Katana and Osaka.

are you sure it's not your imagination?

Try to make a custom start with ships that have Terran and non-Terran beams installed next to eachother.
I did this before 4.20 and all beams turrets behave identical.

well i hope you understand that anti fighter ( anti small ships) weapon is bad for getting through XL shield...
p.s. it is very hard to download file ... too much advertisement, you could use google drive, or youtube instead ....

to the topic, if i correctly remember in x3 terrans did have point singularity turrets....(can even be installed on Mobile Mining Base-Ship, but obviously TL ship turret generator is bad for that), what did happened with them????

you can probably use Dumbfire heavy missiles for the job if you limited to terrans turrets only.

It never worked this way.
I can say that for sure because when I came to x4 from other games, I've noticed two things:
1. beam weapon is not constant beam
2. pulse laser is not the pulse laser I used to. It's more likely energy projectile in x4.
X4 is not a destination. It's a journey. Unfortunately in a wrong direction.

Strange I'm pretty sure the turret beams were actual beams in the beta that stayed on the target for a while kinda like the lasers tower beams.
