Tides of Avarice: map enlargment expectations.
One simple question about the next DLC:
How much do you expect the map to be enlarged?
How many new clusters?
How many new sectors?
Connected how, and where?

Well we know of two systems so far Avarice and Windfall. In the teaser we can see a pair of superhighways in Avarice so its safe to assume there are at least two sectors in Avarice, We haven't seen much in Windfall except for the and that its grey. Since the developers have gone out of their way to mention the two systems much like TTO only mentioned Fields of Opportunity I think its a safe bet that we're only going to get those 2 systems or only very few (IMO that's cool because quality over quantity and Avarice and Windfall would be awesome as-is).
Connections, currently there's a few inactive jumpgates that could be good contenders:

- Eighteen Billion (IMO this is the most likely choice as I think the pirate sectors would make shorter but more dangerous routes)
- Silent Witness
- Cardinal's Redress
- A few Xenon sectors which I don't think would be likely because its out of the way

I remember when the first DLC was announced in the video you could only make out at least 4 new sectors and everyone was dissapointed, then the DLC came out and it added like 20, we were over joyed.
Just... another... bug.

IIRC Bernd said that Avarice will have several sectors and that there will also be a some more systems, but there won't be as much as in SV or CoH.
Re: Tides of Avarice: map enlargment expectations.
It sounds to me like they are adding a pirate alley. I would hope it's located somewhere such that any of the initial races have some kind of access to it without traversing much hostile territory, to keep ship variety up inside.

Well, as long as it isn't either the gate in Argon Prime or Heretic's End, it should be fine. I had plans for those gates for some mod.Connections, currently there's a few inactive jumpgates that could be good contenders:
But anyway, I find it interesting that the OG player sector from X3 Reunion makes a return. I am pretty sure this Avarice and the old Avarice are identical (in terms of origin at least).

Yes in origin they would most likely be the same system. I think the description from X3 mentioning the purchase of the sector could be used to show how Brantlee Northriver and how he is involved (presumably his company has some control over Avarice much like PMC over Albion).
"Ruined by dreams of avarice, this sector was originally claimed by a Teladi entrepreneur, eager to expand to ever greater frontiers. But within his investments at Grand Exchange lay the seeds of despair that eventually led to this sector being placed under auction, in the hope that salvation would be financial, if nothing more."
This is all conjecture obviously, how its incorporated in the DLC could be completely different.

Re: Tides of Avarice: map enlargment expectations.
I honeslty hope them to add at least 30 new clusters all around the map, and a bunch of new pirate areas, or empty, in the middle, that will finally create some danger and some space between the main sectors of each faction.
Right now, I am still of the opinion that the design of the map of X3TC was perfect.

I there is a bet, Id say 5 or 6 and 1 or 2 with subsectors
Fixed ships getting spawned away from ship configuration menu at resupply ships from automatically getting deployables.
