[sugesstion] New faction mission type - escort ship (with rewards)
Add a new type of mission - escort of S / M class traders ships. Should be issued both by the ships themselves (see topic viewtopic.php?f=146&t=418875 point 4) and by stations.
The mission includes a flight inside one sector so that the mission is not too long.
Generation of attackers of that race whose killing in this sector was not considered a crime.
A variation of the mission - if there is a shipyard or equipment dock in this sector - escort a damaged ship of class C / M (without shields or weapons) of any role (combat / trader / miner) to it (for repair or equipment).

When we set a fighter to defend a freighter the default order for it becomes escort, so the mission type already exists. It just does not work very well yet. Fast fighters race off to the final destination of the freighter, while others will often lag behind if their travel speed is not fast enough to keep up. I wager the developers are well aware of this issue and perhaps look for solutions.
I see the NPC traders use laser towers if attacked. I am yet to see my traders do that. I watched my poor fully loaded Selene die to a P yesterday as it did not deploy the laser towers, tracker mines or drones i supplied it. Its escort Pulsar was too far behind to help and I was holding off giving them manual orders so i could observe if the Selene could defend itself. I prefer Hermes tbh. They get in trouble less often due to their higher speed and not sitting in wait queues at gates.
btw I teleported to my Nemesis in that sector and made the P pay. Same for Pirates if they kill my traders.

And not about the possibility of escort your own transporters as such.

Not the worst theme for a mission, but it'd be interesting to see what happened if they tried since that escort in the PHQ mission has bugged every time I played it.

No have any problem with escort boron mission right now. In early version of the game was bug with inactive gates in sector. But this bug solved.

That happened to me the first few times. Last time I did it, the ships that come to attack remained neutral and just followed it around. I was mostly being facetious though, I mean, I'm sure they'd have to make it work eventually if they added it. Maybe not right away, though.

I think a good type of escort ship mission, without needing to spawn enemies, would be to escort freighters carrying supplies to build defense stations in enemy territory.

Yes! I think Egosoft really wants to avoid bringing back enemy spawning for missions, and I think they’re right on that. Great idea.
