Manual mining - Large ships

Is it possible to mine manually with these ships?
I know you can mine ore with the mediums but not gas (no idea why).

I just noticed there is no manual mining laser on the Magnetar (ore).I haven't ordered it yet,so I'd just like to know before I waste my money
as I did with the medium gas miner.

I think they fixed the manual mining on Ls in 1.5 but I am not sure.

Anyway, M miners (like freighters) are more efficient, so you don't lose anything not using Ls.

as far as i tried 2 days ago, it works, it is just a bit tricky, since the turrets sometimes dont shoot at asteroids or not at the ones you want.. i still havent figured out how to fix that.. maybe i should try with "atack my target".

but in generall, it works with the new turret menu. (easily accesed if you just press enter)

Large Mining Ships can be equipped with Mining Laser Turrets, which will auto-fire on asteroids in line-of-sight.

You may need to pick the "Break Asteroids" Turret Rule Of Engagement (I wasn't able to test that yet).

@LennStar - I just like the idea of the large ships.I like to stay out a long time and then sell
