Most features included in XRebirth v.4+ also in X4?
Of course I expect plenty of improvements and changes in the new X4 compared to the latest XRebirth v.4+, but is it fair to say that most what's included in XRebirth will also be in X4?
For example
- Boarding and hacking capital ships;
- Commanding and moving capital ships from a bridge by giving orders to captain (in XRebirth a mod was needed for that);
- Spy Drones to fly around space stations to gather information or carry out a mission.

Yes, all the things you have mentioned outside of the spy drones have already been confirmed(From my knowledge). Highways are also in the game but significantly lessen the amount of highways and improved gameplay so it kinda of a mix of rebirth and x3 tbh. They also kept stations that you can walk around from rebirth.

Hacking was talked about as a feature but not shown in detail. You will also be able to plant bombs in your space suit.
Boarding wasn't touched on either but it's core gameplay since X3 so I'd be very surprised if that changed.
Drones are confirmed to be in the game. Likely having a lot of similar uses as in XR. Not talked about in detail either.
What 4.0 has and is important to me is subsystem targeting for ships. It changed fighters and combat drones from useless fodder to a decent investment. Then again I'm confident they didn't scrap good features like these.
Some of the bad ones I can list are the sliders for interacting. They were unreliable, needed little brainpower and just annoying to me. There are plenty of examples in other games how should hacking or small talk be implemented.

but we've seen tiered marines aboard like in Rebirth and boarding mission ongoing
source please? I only remember cargo drones (which are necessity due to how X/XL docking works) and repair drones. Any others?
Because these two are self sufficient, deployed by script and by quantities, not like Rebirth's individually driven utilities.
I think that the utility drones might be gone now (would be good, I didn't like them), replaced by spacesuit (or more precisely, that Rebirth utility drones were replacement for spacesuit, good idea, but cumbersome in reality).

It seems that If I liked XRebirth HOL then I will also like X4 and more, it's true that if I go through the trailers and images all this looks very promising. I remember I had great fun during combat against pirates where I used to release drones to assist me, and for the boarding cap ships part I was so captivated that I have written a guide I remember.

I'm most concerned about the lame mini games from Rebirth... We know X4 will have highways, but will they also have that dumb mini game as part of them? We know we'll be able to talk to NPCs, but will it be as that dumb smalltalk mini game? I'm hoping not... X4 should have enough "game" to it that minigames aren't necessary, and in my case, not wanted. At all.

Yea this is a good point. There are mods that remove these and while the highway system is easier to navigate now in XR, in X4 we can totally pass by it with the Travel Drive.wizaerd wrote: ↑Tue, 6. Rebirth is full of excellent ideas, but still lacks polish all these years later. Minigames are fine and can add a lot to a game if done correctly. With a good engine and some of your own capitals you can completely ignore highways in Rebirth already.

Minigames are fine if they're optional, which they really weren't in Rebirth. The minigame in EVE for hacking was actually quite engaging. It was an advanced version of minesweeper.
