Autopilot bugged out. It happens. Just teleport to another ship or reset the autopilot and it'll eventually clip back through.

It happens more than it should. I don't find it happens 'every time'.

that is normal even if you get stuck he will unstuck so don t worry :)

If the autopilot is unable to get you unstuck, meaning it deactivates immediately since it cant find a way out of the geometry you're stuck in or the autopilot doesn't move, keep the guidance target selected and quickly mash the autopilot key over and over again. While the autopilot won't find a way out and fail immediately over and over again, the ship still moves in small steps everytime you press the autopilot button, slowly but surely getting you unstuck. Keep mashing the autopilot button until you're unstuck.

Yea, its unfortunate that this can happen, but for now at least there are these workarounds.

Or just get up and let the NPC captain find a way out, which they will eventually.

Best to teleport out of sector -they seem to find their way faster when you're not in the ship.

You can also try to boost out of the geometry if you don't have teleport available.
