Re: Screenshot of the Day
Seconded, it looks plenty detailed to me.
Re: Screenshot of the Day
Yeah I mean it's a clean looking ship but it doesn't look undetailed, especailly when you consider it's going to be moving and the light and shadow is going to be moving across it a lot. You don't want it too detailed or it'll look pretty chaotic in motion.

What is worring me the most is the apparent lack of turrets in such a heavy ship like this...13913408324 wrote: ↑Tue, 16. Oct 18, 07:03As a L class ship,it should has more polygons and more detailed texture quality。

Because it could be a carrier. Aparently X4 resembles the old x games in terms of design technology . Less turrets, same effect, more fps. I'm happy.Général Grievous wrote: ↑Tue, 16. Re: Screenshot of the Day
I dono, i always did like the sheer number of turrets fireing, it was one of the things in XR that i did like, all the little point defence turrets around ships, taking out subsystems and just watching them burn while a big fight is going on.
Re: Screenshot of the Day
A large number of modules and turrets made L-ships in X Rebirth more interesting, detailed and technologically advanced in terms of graphics and gameplay. For me a downgrade of graphics for the sake of fps is undesirable thing.unknown1 wrote: ↑Tue, 16. Oct 18, 18:36Because it could be a carrier. Re: Screenshot of the Day
Nice ship. That's quite a large factory in the back.
Is that the mining ship we saw 2 of in a previous shot?
Save game editor XR and CAT/DAT Extractor
Keep in mind that it's still a work in progress although it's taking shape nicely.
If anyone is interested in a new save game editor for X4 and would like to contribute to the creation of one let me know. I do not have sufficient time to create it alone, but if there are enough people who want it and want to contribute we might be able to set something up.

So our buddy from this shot makes a return.
Gotta say, based on the engine placement, the top 10th of this thing must be MASSIVE.

What? No that's never the same ship. Well never say never but I can see hardly any resemblence. oO

Gota say they do look very similar, though they have some differences:
https://i.gyazo.com/9b4ccd9dca6fbffa71e ... d6380d.png
Red circles are missing entirely from the red ship, yellow circles are areas that are in the same spot but different in design, and green is nearly identical.
https://i.gyazo.com/c064c5b36fa566e598b ... fb0cbc.png
To me it looks like it almost may be a modular ship, where depending on the purpose various bits are plugged into a central engine and command block.
Smells like the teladi, universal parts and modular plug and play ships scream cost saving, and thus more profit

Re: Screenshot of the Day
The big drives up top appear to be circular toward the rear of the structure, and pill-shaped toward the front... look closely at the forward structure of that drive on the red ship and it's juuuust visible ^^BlackDog wrote: ↑Tue, 16. As for those middle structures, looking closely at the trapezoidal structure on the red ship right in front of that tapering cylindrical side-mounted structure - I'm pretty sure that's the upper bit with the yellow lights on the blue ship. The picture of the red ship seems to indicate that the lower one (with the two bright blue lights on the blue ship) is placed much further forward, and the upper one (with the two smaller yellow lights) is placed one "module" behind it. That's supported by the upper structure's apparent absence on the right side in the image of the blue ship.

They both have Argon Federation insignias.

They're the same ship: the first screenshot is a view of the front, the second screenshot was taken from the rear.

Admitting you have a problem is the first step in figuring out how to make it worse.
Re: Screenshot of the Day
It's pretty much the same ship. All the parts are there too that you circled.
Re: Screenshot of the Day
What kind of AA options are available in the game? Judging by the screenshots its going to be a bit of a problem.
Re: Screenshot of the Day
They most nearly Don't need to Apply AA by themselves as many Graphix cards (NVidia for what I know) do the AA almost fine or even better than game does...

Most of the screenshots have no AA. But some do. It's confusing, really.
I believe the red ship may be a pirate skin.

too much busy on the screen obscures things. There's games where you can't see the ships when the guns open up. If you look at the X4 trailer there's plenty of bullets flying around, and the larger turrets are aesthetically pleasing on the Behemot/Colossus.

Irrational factors are clearly at work.

Re: Screenshot of the Day
It shouldn't be that confusing actually, these screenshots are just in-game captures and not some kind of set-up material, so the aliasing level depends on the graphics settings used by the "player" while effectively playing. Some may do this in 1080, some may do in 4K, some others may play with varying levels of AA applied. In this specific case, I'd say that was just a normal 1080 capture without any kind of AA technique applied.Sandalpocalypse wrote: ↑Wed, 17. Oct 18, 01:46Most of the screenshots have no AA. Is that the Player HQ Station in the background?
