[4.20 HF1] Oculus XRVR and Steam - performance question ANSWERED

Will there be a performance difference between running this game directly from Oculus home, compared to loading it up from steam (and requiring Oculus home to be open)? I want to buy XRVR with the loyalty discount, but my computer barely makes the minimum requirements.

i5 2500k (OC'd a little to 3.5GhZ + 3.8GhZ turbo boost), 8gb ram, GTX 970

UPDATE: I bought the game on steam and it runs fine for me when I right click the game in my library and select "Launch X Rebirth VR in Oculus VR mode". I only noticed low FPS one time, when I landed on a station.
