I have installed the latest driver from NWIDIA (382.53)
In most areas with big stations I get low framerate and the experience is not enjoyable. Is this because the game is just very demanding in VR? Will this be possible to optimize trough the early access as the game improve? Would it help to get more RAM? Maybe even a better CPU?
I run the game on low settings and sometimes medium.
My specs are:
GTX 1080 TI
i7-6700k
16 GB RAM
I really like this game, but the lag is not fun

That is very sad.
My system:
https://www.msi.com/Laptop/GT72VR-6RE-D ... o-overview
Identical driver version to yours.
You will see that it's a GTX 1070 instead of your GTX 1080 T. I can put everything at max and still get decent FPS.
Try changing the priority like so:
For those on Windows 10 open up 'task manager' [CTR+ALT+DEL] click the 'details' tab and scroll down to XRebirthVR.exe. Right click on it and select 'set priority' change the option to 'Realtime'.

Since your machine should clearly support a good experience, could it be that you have supersampling turned on?Wololo wrote:I have installed the latest driver from NWIDIA (382.53)

Alternatively a tool in the background that eats away CPU time?

Thanks for the reports. Please could you share the following?
1) A DXDiag report (info on creating one can be found here).
2) Information about the installed Vulkan Driver (generated via running vulkaninfo32.exe, which is probably part of the VulkanRT folder located in the C:\Program Files\ directory (or on the drive you installed the Nvidia driver or the AMD driver, if you have an AMD card).

This was it! Thank you!Bernd wrote: Since your machine should clearly support a good experience, could it be that you have supersampling turned on?

Since I got my video card and installed SteamVR, SS has been set to 2.2. I never bothered to check this since it has been smooth in most games. I now lowered it to 1.0 and X Rebirth is now very smooth with everything on Max.
It's not as clear as it used to be though. But I can experiment with increasing the SS now that I know this.
