Request: Inbound ships attack ships instead of just crashing into the stations

Would love to see the attackers from missions like "inbound raid" attack the real ships (not the foliage ships) instead of this meaningless bumping into the stations! This way they could maybe even do some damage and feel a bit like a threat.
Is it possible?
