Is it worth keeping all the gift craftables?
I have been hoarding all the materials for the various gifts - Haze, Red Water and Paranid Jewellery but, is it actually worth it?
I know I can use them to get bigger discounts and deals but is it really that much more profitable overall? Should I just sell the crafted Items ( they seem to be worth more than the sum of their parts )?

There's more you can do with them:
Those are I guess good reasons to keep them handy. Unless you're not planning an active expansion any time soon.

That's interesting.
Then can you tell me if there's a mod that lets me store the illegal stuff in a secure location?

Hi,
I concentrate solely on Paranid Jewelry. It's NOT illegal, and you can always get enough material to craft it. The other stuff isn't worth the effort, so I sell the ingredients ASAP.
And yes, always finding the best (5-stars) candidate is essential, especially in case of Engineers and Marine officers.

That, or if you stop near a station to do something else...radcapricorn wrote: ↑Wed, 24. Oct 18, 13:37That I don't know, sorry. I never bothered to look for one, as I mostly get scanned only when I accidentally bump into a police vessel.

If you really need lots of those smalltalk gifts for any reason then sell the illegal gift components as soon as you get them and use the extra cash to buy extra common and legal components for the Paranid jewellery from station minerals traders. There is no real profit (but there are increased risks) from waiting to craft the illegal gifts from their components before selling them.

Meh, risks from doing illegal things in this game are pretty much laughable. I mean, station going red for a few minutes? For carrying some booze? Or for shooting up innocent civilians, earning millions in the process?..

There are also mods that let you directly buy seminars, if you really don't want to bother with the crafting/smalltalk system. They are listed in the modding forum.
