Are any DLC's , updates etc planned for what could be another 18 months...?

Probably another update, at least. In various XR Tech Sp threads the devs have said that they would put confirmed and replicable issues onto their worklists for addressing when they can.

The recent X4 announcement has inspired me to play X-Rebirth again and I am really enjoying it.

Well, you just got XR:VR, didn't you?

They will fine-tune that, and probably make a few updates to the other titles as well, but I doubt there'll be new material before X4

True,, I have started playing Rebirth VR,, and so apt the statement " What has been seen cannot be unseen" , will find it very hard to go back to 2D .. Ego did good.
My Laptop fund suffered though ...

Already downloaded Sparky,, As I said previous, very hard to go back to 2D... Sure hope they do VR X4 and the full X4 version with a virtual keyboard.... VR makes one big difference.....
